Name: Back o’ the Dykes
Area: East Govan
Back o' the Dykes or Back Dykes was the name for a grouping of cottages and lands located at the east end of Main Street (Clydebrae Street) and east end of Three Ell Road (Land is an old Scots word for a house of more than one storey).

The origin of the names is due to the area being located at the back of a nearby burn with a dyke (see Burndyke Street).
