Name: Academia Terrace
Date: 1895-1909
Area: Ibrox / Cessnock
Named after the nearby Bellahouston Academy, Academia Terrace was the name for a block of tenements on Porter Street, most of the street and tenements were demolished in the 1960s to make way for the M8 Motorway, however part of the block still exists today.

It was common in Victorian times for blocks of buildings to be named differently from the street(s) they were located on and the blocks could be located in one or more streets, this naming of blocks was more common in the more affluent Govan suburbs such as Ibrox and the style of tenement on Porter Street reflect this affluence.
